Celebrating the youth, Artscape has an eclectic mix of talent lined up which includes a musical drama, international jazz concert, a disability career expo, a hip hop concert and much more.
Based in Cape Town, the theatre is proud to present THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE which is an exploration through hip hop dance and music of the call to heed your passion. Systematically innovative, physically challenging and emotionally uplifting, the invitation is to re-kindle a sense of life as an adventure, choreographed by Kurt Minnaar. This production tells a story of a schoolboy who dares to dream about being an international dancer.
The play takes place this Friday, 13th July at 20:15 and Saturday 14th July at 14:30 and 20:15. The ticket price is R50.
Marlene le Roux, Artscape’s Director of Audience Development and Education says, “the youth programmes aim to contribute to social cohesion, integration and inclusion of previously disadvantaged communities and to contribute to transformation in our society. The new challenge facing our youth is the acquisition of skills. Only through learning new skills can they add value to themselves, their future careers and their communities. To build on this, many of Artscape’s programmes and partnerships are focused on skills development”.
