If you’re a young homie from either Johannesburg or Durban and have been trying to get in the good graces of a phly young pretty thang by putting in that work; or even if you’re already cuffed and have been with your lady for a some time, you need to listen up because we’ve got some bad news for you, homie.
It was surely already traumatic enough for you that the December 2014 announcement of Chris Brown visiting Mzansi shores in April 2015 meant that you’d pretty much be virtually invisible to women if you didn’t date Rihanna, release 7 international successful studio albums and have the moves of a hybrid between Michael Jackson and Jackie Chan on the dance floor. Now, Vuzu have announced on that 22 year-old R&B singer August Alsina will be joining Chris Brown on the tour.
August, relatively new in the game is a Def Jam signee who blew up on the scene last year with hits such as ‘I Luv this Shit’ (featuring Trinidad James) and ‘No Love’ (featuring Nicki Minaj). He also won ‘Best New Artist’ and the 2014 BET Awards and was featured in XXL’s 2014 Freshman of the Year.
But of course most still know him better as the infamous musician accused of accidentally rupturing a woman’s vagina during errr… intercourse. (Really, we can’t make this stuff up – check out The Breakfast Club Interview below).
The two singers will tear down The Dome at Northgate in Johannesburg on 2 April and Moses Mabhinda Statium People’s Park in Durban on 4 April.
