A$AP Rocky has already pushed his album At Long Last A$AP (ALLA) back twice. Between the death of the ASAP Mob boss ASAP Yam$ earlier this year, temporarily moving to London to “get away from everything”, and shooting the movie soon to be released movie DOPE which he stars in, for some time it didn’t seem like we’d ever get the sophomore release.
Rocky is now assuring his fans that the project is on the way, by teasing with the second single since the Miguel assisted ‘Everyday’ track he released in early May. With ‘What’s Beef’ A$AP pays homage to Biggie’s original song of the same name, chopping and screwing the chorus Houston style, and then rapping over an equally mellow and psychedelic instrumental for the rest of the song.
Hopefully he’s cleared this with Diddy because it wouldn’t be a good idea to get on the big homie’s bad side, seeing as he’s out here slapping rappers and sending them to the emergency room.
Anyway, listen to the song below and let us know if you prefer A$AP’s newer version or Biggie’s original.
