Drake dropped the video for arguably the biggest song in 2015 ‘Hotline Bling’ and it’s far from what anyone expected.
For one, the video itself did not debut on on YouTube or OVO or any other platform you usually associate with music videos; Drake lent the hands of his business partner Apple Music, with whom he signed a deal with earlier this year. It is the first video of this magnitude to drop on the platform and receive this level of viewership.
Secondly, there is A LOT of dancing in the video, by Drake. We know, you never really pegged the 6 God as a dancer, being nerdy and half white and all. And you would be correct in thinking this way because his moves in the video are… questionable. The worst part is that it’s not clear whether Drizzy is doing it ironically as part of the narrative of the song or if those are his real dance moves.
Either way, the Director X directed video is different, somewhat conceptual and provides some entertaining comic relief.
