Finally South African artist and producer, Lil Trix has released a brand new EP titled ZULO. After the success of Trix’s last EP Colour Me Bad, which dropped back in 2013 he is proud to announce the release of his 9th EP entitled ZULO. Lil Trix was recently named one of HYPE Magazine’s ‘Top 7 freshman for 2017’. He was part of the 28 freshman candidates and the public had the power to decide on their 7 HYPE Freshman through an online voting system which ran from 1 – 15 November 2016. Over 150k votes later the seven were chosen and HYPE Magazine’s first FRESHMAN Edition Issue was created. Lil Trix can be found on the cover of HYPE Magazine Feb/March/April print issue.
Made up of 10 tracks, this EP is said tobe based around the personal journey that Trix is currently experiencing in his life, such as his frustrations with his day job, college, his music career, and everything he has learnt thus far since parting ways with his former label in 2013. Trix describes the project as his “self-titled entry” as the title combines the first two letters of his full name and surname. The EP’s artwork depicts Trix’s recurring bunny mascot figuratively struggling with the realistic pet bunny as a representation of his real-life conditions due to his desire to fill his career’s plate with the little that he can, which may seem like nothing to many.
The EP is solely produced by Lil Trix and features notable guest appearances from fellow HYPE freshman J.S.K XXVI and ByLwansta, as well as award winning rapper, Solo.
“ZULO is a love story between my dreams and I, and what initially started out as beautiful, always turns sour once you start to realize and experience new things. I’m really happy that people can finally hear the project I’ve been working on for quite some time now, I just really want them to enjoy it” – Trix
