Drake has done over 3 billion streams to date for his album Views which ultimately makes him the king of streaming specifically on Apple Music. We know Views was released exclusively on Apple Music, but More Life might not be. So this could be some great news for users of Spotify, Tidal, SoundCloud and other services, as they won’t have to wait any longer to hear More Life. It’s weird considering Drake’s relationship with Apple. The reason for the change might be that More Life has been considered a ‘playlist’ instead of a full-fledged album, which could change Drake’s approach in the drop. Universal Music Group’s CEO also said (last year) that he was not a fan of streaming service exclusives, and that artists signed to Universal and its subsidiaries would not be doing exclusives anymore. Since Drake is signed to Young Money, which is distributed by Republic Records (which is owned by Universal) that might be the second reason.
