Hype Awards 2009 : Nominees Profile previous page
Reason
1. Category I'm nominated for:
Best Mixtape and Best Lyricist
2. Who would I vote for in my category if I wasn't in it?
Not because he's me boy or nothing, but I'd say Proverbs "off the book" mixtape... Purely because it's one of the only mixtapes that have all the dynamics and structures of a MIXTAPE. Both from a sound and an execution point of view. It's interesting and does the trick: It sells off the creativity stretch of the artist well... So my vote is on him. As for best Lyricist... HHP. He to me is one of the few lyricists in this country who exercise their FULL "right" to be a lyricist. Fearlessly laying it all out, with fresh lyrical rhythms and clear picture painting consistently. Perfect description of a picture painter...
4. Favourite international artist:
I gotta alotta those... 'cause I feel there isn't that ONE artist who has all the qualities I like, all at once. I usually dig different things from different cats all the time...
5. Friends I'd invite to a party:
All my friends
6. My favourite beverage:
I got alotta those too...
7. How many pairs of sneaker I own:
about 10
8. My favourite super hero:
Jesus
9. Julius Malema or Helen Zille?
Julius any day!
10. I never leave home without my:
Phone, laptop and headphones
